Hypnosis is a trance-like state-of-mind that we naturally do without thinking, for example, we can be travelling and not remember the journey, yet we respond immediately to all actions required to get there.

When we are in this trance-like state and relaxed, the sub-conscious mind communicates with the conscious mind. The Hypnotherapist will give you positive suggestions to help you relax, which in turn assists you to find solutions to your problems. This will enable you to change habits, boost your confidence and be positive about your aims and goals.

A trance-like state can vary from being light or a very deep sense of relaxation – but you do not lose consciousness, you are aware of my voice and any sounds around you. It is like daydreaming and when you come back out of a trance you feel revitalised, relaxed with a positive step forward.

Stress is the main factor of illness, whether we are aware of it or not. Hypnotherapy helps you to relax and re-evaluate your problems consciously and unconsciously.

Alongside Hypnotherapy I use a technique called NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) simply means the nervous system, a ‘language of our own programming’. The purpose of NLP is to find ways to change unwanted habits or phobias that may have developed over a number of years. These changes can happen easier than you may have imagined.

N – Neuro – The nervous system

L – Linguistic – Language & non−verbal communication

P – Programming – How we run our neurology system

Patients are being recommended to me from the NHS Renal Department, Poole & Dorchester to help with fear of needles and pain management.

Am I in control?

With clinical hypnosis you are always in control and you are able to come out of a trance if you wish.  It is not like we see on the TV or stage hypnotism shows.

How many sessions will I need?

Like any therapy it is possible to make changes in one session, but perhaps more are needed to resolve any other underlying causes, which can be discussed after your initial session.
